For clarification
1) can't access local library from player. player says to install LMS from mysqueezebox 2) can access and play local library on same player from the web interface 3) volume can't be controlled from web interface but other controls can 4) community firmware is installed 5)updated LMS to latest 8.3 version This happened after I changed Firewall settings, but was working for at least a day after those settings were changed.
