for the user that is logged in. The properties for LMS service show Log On as a Local System account with full control.
Exactly: full _local_ access. But not to your NAS. You'll have to use a named user who has an account on the NAS, too. Or you make the music folder on the NAS public (but probably read only). But the Local System account will NOT be allowed to access a standard share on your NAS.
