excellent points and I agree. I don't think cache needs to be restored (but I have copied both cache and prefs folders to new LMS installs, and it worked just fine). One important point however, in the "server.prefs" file, after saving, open with a text editor and search for "uuid". There will be two lines that contain "uuid" and other info. Delete both those lines and save the "server.prefs" file (as text file). Once LMS on new machine starts it will recreate the proper uuid lines for that particular install. (this probably doesn't matter if the old and new LMS servers are not in the same household. But in one case I had two servers in same household, and it caused problems in selecting and controlling the two LMS servers, as having the same uuid info confused the controller. *Home:* Pi4B-8GB/pCP8.x/4TB>LMS 8.2.x>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* rPi4B-4GB/pCP8.x/4TB>LMS 8.2.x>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>foobar2000 *The Wild: *rPi3B+/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>hifiberry Dac+Pro (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone11 & iPadAir3 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, Material Skin, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) *Files:* -Ripping-: dBpoweramp > FLAC; -Post-rip-: mp3tag, PerfectTunes, TuneFusion; -Streaming:- Spotify ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116155 _______________________________________________ Squeezecenter mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
