Thanks, that fixed it.

Unchecking "enable" on the Airplay Bridge plugin resolved the problem. 
Re-enabling it again all still behaves properly. 

Before the disable -> re-enable fix, LMS log showed multiple instances
of this:
Plugins::RaopBridge::Squeeze2raop::beat (178) crashed ... restarting

I recall that a day or two prior I was playing a Youtube vid on MacBook,
and decided to route the mac sound to the pCP player by selecting pCP in
Settings/Sound/Output on the mac. I can't be certain, but probably after
that, the first time I tried to control LMS with webGUI on MacBook was
when the misbehavior first arose. 

I'll dig deeper into the Airplay Bridge user guide and settings, and
experiment a bit to see if there's a way to prevent this from breaking
in the first place. Meanwhile, at least I now know a quick fix if it
should happen again.
