We started utilizing Pandora almost on the same day it become available for Squeezebox owners utilzing Pandora.
We discovered this morning that our Pandora account had stopped working on our new Squeezebox. I suspected it was because our 90 day free sub had ended, but the interface and messages on our Squeezebox were very terse, appeared to be a account failure of somekind, etc... So we went online via the web, went to Pandora's site, where it immediately told us that our 90 day trial sub had ended and asked us to subscribe. "Well, that was at least this is informative". Why couldn't they told us that on the Squeezebox? The Pandora account messages on the squeezebox simply blow chunks...very unpandora like...uninformative, no clear reason what's going on. It should simply say, "Your Pandora 90 Day Free Sub Has Ended. Visit your account on pandora.com to subscribe for..." You get the idea. Please pass this on to whomever at SlimDevices and Pandora manages this aspect of the interface...a more graceful, informatiave message on the status of the 90 Day Pandora free sub on the Squeezebox is appropriate given how you have partnered together. By the way, we subscribed to Pandora. Pandora is the IPOD of internet radio. It's just so damn easy to use and it works. For $36 a year for a great, customizable radio service that integrates so cleanly with our Squeezebox, this is a reasonable price. Take this as constructive criticism, we want to see both SlimDevices and Pandora succeed. Keep up the good work. Parting Requests: SlimDevices Request 1: Squeezebox 4.0 needs to be even more portable. Same functionality, smaller, built-in lithium-ion battery, Wireless-G, and EVDO/EDGE accessible too. A truly portable Squeezebox. SlimDevices Request 2: Integrate squeezebox network with an online music storage locker. Combine it with Request #1, and you've got an true IPOD killer. Pandora: Make at least the subscriber side of the business able to access Pandora stations via other mp3 streams, etc. Online/Web and Squeezebox access are nice, but I would love to stream Pandora directly to my pocketpc phone with EVDO. I can stream other radio stations, but I really want to stream Pandora. Pandora Portability are the operative words you should take action on. Love you guys. -- d_anders ------------------------------------------------------------------------ d_anders's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3947 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24438 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/squeezenetwork
