i'm kinda confused i think...

do u mean to say that a NAS can run such a pgm, (a ddns client), on
itself?  i did not know that.

i suppose you would have to determine your ddns was compatible though,
right?  it would vary, yes?

and when you say "as well as SS" you really mean "as well as the
computer SS is on" right?

this is good to know...

however, i stand by what i said, which is i would like to see SB
implement the feature, and handle the sub-domain issue, kinda like a
personal license plate.

also, there are IP kvm switches and power strips one could use, and it
would be useful for these as well, altho i have yet to get one.  still,
i am contemplating all these things as i try to lower my elec use as
much as possible, without sacrificing functionality.
