I've never thought that Sonus and Squeezebox were level - I have always felt that Squeezebox/Slim were vastly better price/performance.
Squeezebox + basic remote + Slimserver + Squeezenetwork = $299 (or $229 on the recently ended White sale). Sonos Zoneplayer 80 (the cheapest) + Desktop Controller Software = $349. Add the (admittedly kickass) remote to the Sonos for $399, then you're spending a whopping $748!!! I'd rather stick with a basic Squeezebox remote, buy 2 Squeezeboxes, and save $150. On a final note, as cool as the Sonos remote is...for $349 I'd expect it to be more than just a Sonos remote.
