Listening to many of the recordings of nature sounds at Amazon I was struck by how annoying many of them were. The wave recordings, in particular, sounded like very grating gray noise. Some of the "morning on quiet pond" recordings, with frogs and many of the bird in forest recordings would make much better wakeup alarms than they would to help anyone sleep.
