Radio Free Colorado on Shoutcast is another station that does
a variety of versions including 192kbps. I had emailed the owner and
asked if he was using bass boost or enhancement. I pleaded my case for
him to try without it. I recieved a email back the next day asking me
how it sounded with the bass enhancer off.
It sounds excellent now without that constant bass thumping on all
songs. This station when listening in the sweetspot, has depth ,
soundstaging ,inner detailing and one of the best midrange when it
comes to voices.Listening even from another room is excellent. I
compared this station to Rock Radio 1.com which plays 192kbps. Radio
Free Colorado made that station now sound thin and more digital. It
also lacked the slight warmth that you get with Rado Free Colorado.
The way i find the higher rate is click on Shoutcast on the computer
and type in the station. It will then open all the servers. Select one
by clicking on it once so it opens and you can see the KBPS rate.
I will try the station Paradise since i like the higher rates when it
comes to internet radio.
