Hi Andy, thanks for responding. I can't recall I have done this actively (may have, as I'm a nosy guy: probably just clicked the menu item if there is one?).
Point is that I can't switch it back, which is the thing indeed I would like. I'm quite happy with running my own slimserver/squeezecenter for my own music collection, as I've been doing for years now. So, how would I be doing that? (nor can I go on into the squeezenetwork because of the apparently failing registration process).
