I've had two duets for a while, running 7.0 on a Thecus NAS using Andreas' module. I periodically switch between Squeezenetwork for internet radio and my server for music library (never managed to get net radio working via server). At some point last week, it's started initiating a receiver firmware update EVERY TIME I switch from SN to the server or vice versa. When I switch from SN to server, I get an 'Updating Squeezebox Firmware' message on the remote, the other way, the remote says nothing but the receiver just sits there for a while with the white LED flashing on the receiver.
After updating after switching to my server, the receiver version shows as 23. After switching to SN, it shows version 22 Both my duets do this.
