Let's ask the question in a different manner. Do I particularely need a remote controller in order to configurre my Squeezebox? Can I just buy the receiver and Stream from my Linux box with all the perl Toolkit available? (I don't need the models with a display) Currently I'm using mpd which I've even integrated successfully with my IP Phone system. I can use any of the phones in the house to control remotely my playlists, shuffle, repeat, randomize, change playlist... Now the only thing missing is the ability to stream this in the whole house. Squeezebox would have been fantastic if only I could stream from a line source... Maybe the Linux toolkit will be enough? Thanks again.
