Metadata (artist, song, etc..) is provided by most Internet Radio stations with artist & song being the most common. But how much info and what specifically is displayed varies by station. Some only transmit a message like "visit XYZRadio.com for more info". Many of the stations with commercials will display the product name and product web site while the commercial plays (like Viagara.com), but then properly display artist & song info when they go back to music. While some stations only display a playlist text like "0043-6675". Wait until you get into the music on demand services like Slacker & Pandora (free to SD's customers). Here you will get MUCH more data (album, year released, artist bio, contributing artists, etc....). But what you are seeing (station name, artist, song) is by far the most common info sent by the vast majority of stations. A GREAT way to discover new artists and songs!
