No probably not updated, I would imagine it only updates that reading
at the start of each track. This can happen with FLAC files streamed
from SqueezeCenter too, as they are VBR by nature. So a quiet passage
at the start can have a low bit-rate, and the rest of the track a lot
higher, yet you only see the low bit-rate reported.

I wouldn't worry about it. Your MP3Locker isn't doing to be re-encoding
your MP3s as that would take a massive amount of server processing when
you scale it up to all users. 

There are clever audio formats (like RealAudio I believe) that can
adapt to different bit-rates without re-encoding, MP3 isn't that clever
though.

All this comes from SN and your Boom not seeing the whole file, they
only see each chunk as it is served from the locker and the poor
handling of VBR in MP3s. Granted there is an argument that the bit-rate
should be updates throughout the track, but my personal opinion is that
it is a minor quibble and there is much more important things for the
developers to spend time on :)
