No probably not updated, I would imagine it only updates that reading at the start of each track. This can happen with FLAC files streamed from SqueezeCenter too, as they are VBR by nature. So a quiet passage at the start can have a low bit-rate, and the rest of the track a lot higher, yet you only see the low bit-rate reported.
I wouldn't worry about it. Your MP3Locker isn't doing to be re-encoding your MP3s as that would take a massive amount of server processing when you scale it up to all users. There are clever audio formats (like RealAudio I believe) that can adapt to different bit-rates without re-encoding, MP3 isn't that clever though. All this comes from SN and your Boom not seeing the whole file, they only see each chunk as it is served from the locker and the poor handling of VBR in MP3s. Granted there is an argument that the bit-rate should be updates throughout the track, but my personal opinion is that it is a minor quibble and there is much more important things for the developers to spend time on :) -- funkstar ------------------------------------------------------------------------ funkstar's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2335 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60022 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezenetwork
