Hi - just heard back from support. They say: "We're aware of an issue that occurred a few days ago over one of our holidays. The issue since should be fixed but there may be some lingering issues that are being worked on. "
I replied back that it works again for me now. To be fair, apparently something happened over the Thanksgiving weekend, and surely, they are just as shortstaffed over this one holiday as everybody else in the US. They seem have gotten it sorted. I will learn and be a bit more patient next time... I still love my squeezebox, even if a little buggy. And I can't afford the Sonos...
