Is this using Squeezebox Server software or connecting directly to MySqueezebox.com? I'm guessing you're using the software (as you mention playing local files)?
What sometimes happens is that the software starts up before your internet connection is available on a reboot, or you lose your internet connection for some reason - and the software isn't smart enough to know that it becomes available later on.
