Which model of Squeezebox do you have? The behavior is a little different for older Squeezeboxes vs the Touch and Radio.
Normally, under My Music you'll see links to browse by Artist, Album, Genre, Year, Music Folder. Navigating into these you'll see a hierarchy of your local music library organized by one of these.
