OK, next attempt, trying your proposals in order of effort, low first:

Installed LMS 7.9 on my PC. Then, did „choose player“ on the duet and
selected the 7.9. Worked fine, saw all of the new menus of 7.9, played
music ok. Then, switched off every device. Next morning, I switched on
the router, the Duet and its controller and selected "Choose player".
The Duet offered MSB.com and the PC-based server, no longer the
NAS-based LMS. I selected MSB.com. No success, again “Problem
connecting” ten times in a row, Duet SB shows blue LED.

BTW, the error message on the Duet's Controller also says “please check
Logitech Media Server to make sure it is running properly”. Do you
folks agree that this is misleading or wrong? I want to use MSB.com, so
there does not need to be any local LMS. I assume this is a variable
error message which just inserts MSB.com in the text as the variable
SERVER or whatever.
