Though I am unsure whether the peerConnectSucceded() should also be
moved. Theoretically it means the same thing as the connected_done flag.

Mixed feelings on this.
The peerConnectSucceded, marks the peer as alive which maybe is not true if the SSL connection fails for any reason. Is this equivalent as a TCP connect failing?
