Well, in the release notes: http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v3/3.0/squid-3.0-PRE2-20030816-RELEASENOTES.html Convert core squid source to C++ (Robert Collins). In terms of pros - thats really separate from the changes. We had many discussions about the language for squid-3.0 before starting the c++ migration. A lot of the changes listed in the release notes are one-liners, but represent very substantial architectural changes. I.e. Unify much of the IO logic, shrinking the code base for diskd/aufs/ufs.
