I didn't directly refer to that, no.  I set up a set of simple unit
tests that checked compliance against the RFC and tweaked it until it
passed.

No, but I've attached them to this message. They're in Python (because it's quick for me) and use the pylib testing framework. Note that four tests currently fail due to the fact that we can't/don't currently invalidate variants of an object.
