For irony, at least when I last worked on it, cygwin setup is built in --no-cygwin mode; which while not precisely mingw, is a lot closer to that than a cygwin1.dll using program :>. -Rob -- GPG key available at: <http://www.robertcollins.net/keys.txt>.
