Hey Amos,

The patch did solved one problem I had which was a major one!
Thanks.
The problem was that one request would work and on the next the helper reply would get stuck.

Also now I understood about the Unknown thing.
On the old helper I remember we decided that we will allow only allowed acls access to the helper. I noticed that the Unknown issue comes only for requests that are not suppose to be checked.

My acls are "allow .ytimg.com" and "deny all"
I will post my code later today since it works and functional now.
I am in the middle of polishing and documenting it.

I had another problem while running squid as non root uesr:
when I start it would state:
2012/12/05 11:50:57 kid1| helperOpenServers: Starting 5/25 'store_id.rb' processes 2012/12/05 11:50:57 kid1| WARNING: no_suid: setuid(0): (1) Operation not permitted 2012/12/05 11:50:57 kid1| WARNING: no_suid: setuid(0): (1) Operation not permitted 2012/12/05 11:50:57 kid1| WARNING: no_suid: setuid(0): (1) Operation not permitted 2012/12/05 11:50:57 kid1| WARNING: no_suid: setuid(0): (1) Operation not permitted 2012/12/05 11:50:57 kid1| WARNING: no_suid: setuid(0): (1) Operation not permitted

I will post the new code at the other thread under the "patch"

Thanks,
Eliezer

The helper code for now Is too much for me and I will get back to it
when later Amos will have more time and This part of the patch will be
ready steady and documented.

Christos found a bug which I expect is causing the "Unknown". Please try
the patch proposed to fix that bug and see if it resolves the issues you
found as well.

Amos
