I need to tune the tcp/ip stack for use on a Squid server which will
service clients in Africa. The Squid box will sit in the USA, and the
clients using the Squid box will be spread throughout Africa. The traffic
between the clients and Squid is over satellite links.
Specifically I need to 1) turn off TCP slow start, 2) have TCP not wait
for acks, and finally 3) a min TCP window size of at least 64Kb.
Under Solaris I can use ndd to do the tcp tuning (although I believe the
not waiting for acks is application specific and done with TCP_NODELAY).
How do I do 1 & 3 with Linux?
Does Squid have support for TCP_NODELAY in the connections to the clients?
If not, where do I look to add that?
