I am attempting to setup squid and transparent proxy with ipchains
and kernel 2.2.x
I have gotten the redirection part taken care of.... with
some hitches. The URL that is requested of squid _never_ has
the original host before it...
example
http://www.netscap.com/some_dir
is translated to /some_dir
squid store.log
919457041.861 RELEASE FFFFFFFF 400 -1 -1 -1 unknown -1/1016 GET /some_dir
squid then answers with:
ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved
While trying to retrieve the URL: /some_dir
The following error was encountered:
Invalid URL
Some aspect of the requested URL is incorrect. Possible problems:
Missing or incorrect access protocol (should be `http://'' or similar)
Missing hostname
Illegal double-escape in the URL-Path
Illegal character in hostname; underscores are not allowed

Any Clues to why this is happening?
