squid on alpha -- OS

Hello,

quick question... If you had a choice of linux on alpha
or DU on alpha for a proxy server/squid -- which would 
you run and why?

Yes, DU is tru 64, BUT is that going to make much difference
on squid especially on a medium size machine -- 256 meg ram
and a 266 mhz AS 300.  Disk space is only about 8 gig.

I am wondering for costs of OS and maint, is DU going to buy
me much?
