Compare what configure says, to what you know about your system.

Enabling ip-filter support in Squid tells Squid that ip-filter is used
on the host for making a transparent proxy, and that squid should
interface to ip-filter for finding the real IP addresses of the
requests.

Squid does not configure ip-filter settings or anything like that.

Not much information besides configure --help, and asking on
squid-users. A rule of thumb for Squids configure parameters is that you
probably know when you need one of them. If you are unsure about a
configure option then you most likely does not need it either.

Pretty much the same applies to squid.conf settings, except the basic
ones.
