I'm having an unusual problem with a squid setup that worked fine a few days ago. A bunch of other stuff has been upgraded (including the kernel) since then, maybe it's related? Anyway, the problem is that squid (a vanilla config) periodically quits downloading a file. In access.log, the "elapsed" field for the connection goes impossibly high. Example below. You'll notice some SWAPFAIL's too - they're pretty rare, but what causes them? 923431179.346 3296 192.168.5.2 TCP_MISS/200 452 GET http://adfu.blockstackers.com/servfu.pl? - DIRECT/adfu.blockstackers.com text/html 923431180.020 1243 192.168.5.2 TCP_SWAPFAIL_MISS/200 2220 GET http://slashdot.wolfe.net/images/topics/topicgnome.gif - DIRECT/slashdot.wolfe.net image/gif 923435474.960 4301114 192.168.5.2 TCP_MISS/200 15997 GET http://slashdot.org/ - DIRECT/slashdot.org text/html 923435474.960 4627998 192.168.5.2 TCP_MISS/504 991 GET http://squid.nlanr.net/Squid/related.html - DIRECT/squid.nlanr.net - 923431180.038 726 192.168.5.2 TCP_SWAPFAIL_MISS/504 991 GET http://slashdot.wolfe.net/images/topics/topicinternet.jpg - DIRECT/slashdot.wolfe.net - I had this problem with 2.2-dev3, and tried reverting to 2.1.2-4, but that didn't fix anything. Overall, it's pretty confusing. Thanks.
