FTP and Squid Proxy

Dear all
                Hope you can help on this one, we have a requirement for FTP
access to systems behind our Squid Proxy. Can we send FTP requests through
the Proxy somehow using redirects or something. I apologies if this is a
lame question but I am new to squid.
