I don’t consider myself knowledgeable enough to answer your question in regards to Squid, but I have a similar solution for my own needs.
If you don’t need immediate results, you can simply send the log data to something like Elasticsearch, and transform it there later. This will not effect Squid performance in any way, and you can distribute it to micro services, which is preferable IMO. Hope that helps.
