[squid-users] External (off Lan) clients connecting through proxy

Is it possible to set squid to accept off lan (external) connections?  I have tried 
numerous things to allow this with no success.  I have even experimented with acl's 
that allow all access... (i think)  Can some one shead some light on this for me?  TY!
