Sure - test winbind from the command line by running wbinfo -a username%password You should see both a plaintext and challenge-response test result. If you don't see the challenge-response result, then Samba doesn't have -with-winbind-auth-challenge compiled in. Note that this is in the Squid docs reagrding the Winbind helpers. Adam
