Is there anything said in cache.log? > Is there any reason why specifying non-default log locations would > conflict with log rotation? None. If nothing is said in cache.log then most likely the pid file has been corrupted. Note that you need to at least issue a "squid -k reconfigure" to activate the new log settings. A restart of Squid is recommented. -- Donations welcome if you consider my Free Squid support helpful. https://www.paypal.com/xclick/business=hno%40squid-cache.org Please consult the Squid FAQ and other available documentation before asking Squid questions, and use the squid-users mailing-list when no answer can be found.
