If you have a single LDAP database with all your users, and each user have a unique login name not reused anywhere else in your LDAP tree then the standard LDAP helper works fine with no modifications, just use the search mode. If the users are in different LDAP databases, or you multiple users have the same login name then you need to use the open2 based wrapper (see the squid-users archives) to multiple instances of squid_ldap_auth.
