Unless you HAVE to go through squid better options are: 1) Do not provide a FQDN for the nameofserver (I.E. instead of http://hpprinter.mycompany.com:8080 use http://hpprinter:8080) this will go direct to the device instead of through squid
2) If you have to use the FQDN, put it in the exceptions list on your browser so It doesn't go through the browser...
