Long time listener, first time caller. On devel.squid-cache.org, I see the WCCPv2 support link, that refers me to the visolve page. On that page, I see a patch for the kernel, which I applied to the kernel source tree. (Patch indicates that it for 2.4.18 and above, the source tree from RedHat9, which Im running, is 2.4.20). Patch applies ok, and when rebuild the kernel, the module is indeed there, and all appears ok.
WCCP v1 (on router) v3 (on squid.conf) seems to be fine, as long as the DNS servers specified remain available.so thats good. I also see a patch for the squid code, indicating it is for squid-2.5-PRE7. I am running squid-2.5-STABLE4. Is this patch still required on the more recent version I am running? Also, the squid.conf file refers to WCCP version 3 and version 4. Do these versions correspond to Cisco versions 1 and 2 respectively? Thanks in advance for all your help.
