That's always been my recommendation, but things move very slowly here ....
that's why I need to try to keep things in a safe state prior to upgrading.

I encountered a weird corruption issue with aufs on solaris with squid
2.4stable X. I suggest you use diskd.

If at all possible, please do upgrade to 2.5.
