Our squid proxy server was SIGHUPped this morning to remove the adzapper redirector.

The cache.log file has a huge amount of entries regarding an acl file of sites to block as well as some other errors. The server has been HUPped before without too many problems (certainly not the subdomain error). Has it read the same entries in twice or something? I don't see how a 2LD can be a subdomain of itself..
