Of course, squid.conf says that the process size can increase up to 3x
cache_mem! You don't need such a high cache_mem. I would suggest 128MB
if the machine is not being used for something else.

Are you sure you want a cache_mem of 320 MB? See the Squid FAQ chapter
on
memory usage.
