redirect_children has nothing to do with sessions. It simply tells Squid how many instances of the redirect_program it should invoke. Squid needs 1 redirect_children per concurrent request the redirector needs to process. You can see how frequently used the redirector childrens are via the cachemgr interface. Regards Henrik
