You can't test the NTLM authentication scheme from the command line. When using NTLM the helper expects to be talking to a NTLMSSP client such as MSIE, not a human.. What you can test is winbind with the wbinfo tool like shown in the Squid FAQ. You can also verify that ntlm_auth can perform manual authentication (see the ntlm_auth documentation). If the wbinfo tests does not work properly then almost certainly ntlm_auth won't work either. Regards Henrik
