Hi all, Firstly thanks for all the responses to my first post [squid-users] complete newbie, I have now got squid up and running to a point, using Webmin for simplicity to start with although the plan is to disect the squid.conf file at a later date.
I have now configured a browser to test the squid service, with limited success, I have taken out all of the ACL's except all, to start with, which allows me to connect to the squid box. The problem is now that when I request www.yahoo.co.uk I have a long wait for the page to open and I get the error; web page could not be found: www.www.yahoo.co.uk.com Does anyone know what is causing this additional prefixs and suffix? or at what stage they are being added? This happened initially on a Windows NT4 machine with IE 5.0 as the browser, this has since been updated to IE6sp1 but still the same issue. The server is RedHat 9 running Squid-2.5.STABLE4 and webmin-1.121-1 All traffic is forwarded to a parent proxy at the LEA, who run an N2H2 filtering proxy. Any help would be much appreciated.
