Most likely it is installed, but in a different location compared to your old Squid installation. When you build Squid from source the default installation directory is /usr/local/squid, with the path to the Squid binary /usr/local/squid/sbin/squid If you previously installed a binary distribution of Squid then this most likely is built differently, quite likely installing the Squid binary as /usr/sbin/squid Regards Henrik
