Sometimes it is possible to find workarounds to broken servers but not always. To find a workaround you must first identify exacly what it is the server dislikes. This is most easily done by capturing two requests for the URL, one via Squid and the other direct. Then use netcat to send variants of these requests until you find what it is the server dislikes.
