Depends on very many factors, but in the current design CPU efficiency degrades quite noticeable when going above some thousands of concurrent connections. There is hope this will be considerably improvved in the upcoming Squid-3.0 release with the help of epoll/kpoll. > Also what is a good envirnoment?
