Ok.

Cna you please capture a "tcpdump -s 1600 -i any -w dump.out" while 
sending this request, then upload the dump to 
ftp://hno.homeip.net/incoming/ and send me an email.

Or alternatively (if you are not comfortable with sending packet traces) 
use tcpflow or ngrep to inspect what the squid<->server and 
client<->squid traffic looks like to see if this is a problem induced by 
Squid, or a client/server problem.
