Is this really what you intended? It is opposite to your calculation above, and using '78069102' as realm looks a little odd.. By switching the user and realm into what I think is your intended then htdigest does give the expected output: $ htdigest -c passwd Cyber 78069102 Adding password for 78069102 in realm Cyber.
