Hi, I have a squid-2.5STABLE2 on a Solaris-8 Box. Sometimes I see strange Results (old pages / downloads with no content) going to the client.
Today I was able to verify that there is a problem. I tried to download a pdf (Nagios-Documentation) from the Nagios-Website with my Internet Explorer 6.0. IE already asked me wether I want to open or save the document and I went to save. The download ended, but I only received maybe 1kb of the whole document. I checked the logfile and there I found a (maybe) strange entry - at least it was strange for me: 1081939891.711 16394 192.168.82.17 TCP_MISS/200 3689396 GET http://nagios.sourceforge.net/download/contrib/documentation/english/Nagios_1_0_Docs.pdf - DIRECT/66.35.250.209 application/pdf 1081940037.382 48 192.168.82.17 TCP_IMS_HIT/304 229 GET http://nagios.sourceforge.net/download/contrib/documentation/english/Nagios_1_0_Docs.pdf - NONE/- application/pdf 1081940104.605 8 192.168.82.17 TCP_IMS_HIT/304 229 GET http://nagios.sourceforge.net/download/contrib/documentation/english/Nagios_1_0_Docs.pdf - NONE/- application/pdf 1081940349.265 26 192.168.82.17 TCP_IMS_HIT/304 229 GET http://nagios.sourceforge.net/download/contrib/documentation/english/Nagios_1_0_Docs.pdf - NONE/- application/pdf So apparently the file gets downloaded from the cache - but (whyever) not transported completely to my IE. But squid thinks he has been successfull because on the next requests he answers with "not modified", so IE should take it out of his cache. When I cleared all caches at IE and tried to re-Fetch that Document I got the same error - Squid downloaded the whole file but I wasn't receiving it on my Webbrowser. Where can I check further for the solution of this problem? I already put a "ie_refresh on" in the config-file, but it didn't help for this kind of problem.
