[squid-users] Squid result codes

Hello! 
I am creating scripts which analyze access.log and fetch the 
amount of data ("bytes" field) downloaded by a user. 

Does this field always contain the number of bytes which were 
got from the Internet? Or it depends on the "Squid result 
codes" (TCP_MISS, TCP_HIT, etc)? 

For ex, if we have the log line with the code TCP_HIT and the 
"bytes" field is equal to 1000, then what does it number 
(1000) mean? 
Were that 1000 bytes really got from the Internet?
