How long are you waiting?

I am no squid expert by any means but I have noticed similar
things with my own trials; the page comes up "Done" but the
browser window is completely empty but if I wait....just a
few seconds...there! All of a sudden the page pops up and
then browsing is quick from then onwards.

I've not thought anything of it since it has been a feature
of my limited squid/linux experience. I have always just
assumed that I am maybe waiting for disk writes or
something.
